Luminary ~ My World [Original Mix]
The shortest mix of this Lost Language release, the beat starts off a bit laid-back, with a slightly down-tempo beat on top of which are layered a dreamy pad and a progressive-sounding bassline. A minute through and the first break brings along dreamy piano notes, until the beat comes back in, this time with the magical vocals of Ashley Tomberlin. Around a minute and a half of vocal bliss are interrupted by another short break during which the elements get richer. The 4:00 minute mark imposes a cold silence to everything and all of a sudden all you hear are those trembling vocals. As expected, it doesn't take the beat too long to get back on track, and shortly afterwards a final break makes its way through with those beautiful piano notes making a comeback. All in all, a very emotional original mix, one with great potential for some massive remixes.
Luminary ~ My World [Nikola Gala Remix]
And the massive remixes begin with the massive Progressive House producer Nikola Gala. It took Nikola a couple of minutes to bring those addictive vocals in, but if you hear the bass on which they are pounded you would surely know that it was worth the wait! The vocals are really clear in this mix, with the beat causing some serious dancefloor damage as the case always is with Mr. Gala. Somewhere prior to the 5:00 minute mark, the breakdown falls upon us: a buzzing bass sound, a monotonous pad, and the heavenly vocals of course... then come the trancy keys, minimalistically emerging from the depths, with the bassline getting jealous and doing the same, until the beat is finally hammered in causing a chronic "hands in the air" syndrom. Decent interpretation from Nikola Gala who, as ever, succeeds in keeping the more progressive floors happy!
Luminary ~ My World [Andy Moor Mix]
Undoubtebly one of the top producers around today, Andy Moor delivers yet another godlike remix. A full minute of dry beats before the irresistable bassline makes its way through and is soon followed by the epic vocals. A few measures from here and Andy mutes down the beat to tease our aching hearts, only to then allow it to explode back in... I can only imagine what this will do to a packed dancefloor! Before you know it, Moor gives you a break to catch your break, and boy oh boy what a break it is... no words can describe it and give it justice, it's quite simply the typical Andy Moor breakdown of biblical proportions. And as he has gotten us used to in all his remixes of vocal songs, Andy manipulates the vocals in such a manner that no one else can achieve. This man truly is a school by himself, and this remix is probably the biggest one on the release, bringing the very best out of the song whilst combining it with his trademark sparkly synths, dirty bass, and slamming drums. Chapeau-Bas!
Luminary ~ My World [Arksun Mix]
Breaks! A special remix for all the breaks fans out there from Arksun. A minute and a half of break chaos until Ashley makes her presence, first off with the usual flow of lyrics, then with Arksun's own effects implemented on them. Not long from here the vocals go solo and the "spinning" bit receives an endless loop until every single sound is completely muted at the 4:37 mark with everything exploding back in a few seconds later! Arksun sure knows how to use the element of surprise to wreck the dancefloor! Nice remix that adds a different flavor to the release.
Luminary ~ My World [Pesh Remix]
Strong beat straight ahead promising a more uplifting take on this gem. The vocals are absent in the buildup of this mix, for the exception of the "it's a little late love" phrase. A couple of minutes in and the chords from the original mix dominate the sound sphere, progressively becoming more and more energetic, up until the beat crawls back in and the track reaches its designated climax. Things move on naturally onwards, until a second breakdown quite similar to the first is handed to us for our aural pleasure, and things get only better from there. Decent work by Pesh, nothing too mindblowing, just your typical quality remix that is surely worth a check (as if you can ever get enough of those vocals!).
Luminary ~ My World [Hydroid Remix]
The final remix on this release comes straight from Israel. Hydroid has made quite an impact with his quality productions and remixes this year, and this one is no different. A beat as solid as gold, a bassline capable of shaking any sound system, and the vocals that have been embellished quite enough in this review - a perfect combination! Three minutes until the breakdown eventually falls upon us, with the vocals making you float in thin air and the sweet melody ensuring that your trip is carried out with a smile. Luckily, a second breakdown enriches this remix, but things don't become any more uplifting than is, just as Etay has gotten us used to... not that I'm complaining! Beautiful stuff from Hydroid whose dreamy sounds easily make any trancer feel ecstatic, and a great way to conclude this massive release that, in my opinion, is the next As The Rush Comes club-wise.
