Kompressor - Black Onyx
Posted: Mon Jan 17, 2005 5:29 pmWith a Green Martian Remix, this track is supposed to be a stunning new edition of the Kompressor sound, produced by Vincent Kriek. His previous release entered the record bags of big hardtrance jocks and especially Judge Jules caned it for months. This new Kompressor track is called Black Onyx and comes with a Green Martian Remix on Bonzai Music.
Original Mix
Kicks off with a techy bassline and a high bpm and some percussion. The sound is pretty oldschool the first minutes. In the background an amazing dark, gloomy sound works itself up with techy stabs. The tune grows and grows till we reach a dark, scary breakdown. Psy-ish synths add to the dark and underground feel. The distorted voice calling upon the Dark Onyx, makes the tension rise, till the bassline kicks in. A very repetitive, dark tune that is an absolute must have for oldschool Bonzai fans!
Green Martian Remix
This is easily the best hardtrance beast unleashed this year. Laurent Véronnez shows nu mercy under his Green Martian guise and turns the original mix into the darkest, scariest and most banging tune. The first minute the audience is blasted away by that remarkable Green Martian bassline supported by vague underground sounds. The energy builds subtle till a small breakdown. Stabs in the tune are pushing the track till massive heights. And when u think your on the top.. It get's even better. At the 6 minute mark the bassline accelerates and takes off in a total hardtrance frenzy, like almost never done before. Best track for 2005 for me this far!
Conclusion
What a smashing, amazing, brilliant release on the Bonzai label. Close your eyes, imagine yourself visiting the most underground rave full of lasers and dancing people around 5 AM. When you do it playing these tracks, life just doesn't get much better than that!
