Sun Decade - Follow You
Most of you may have mixes of this gr8 track by now, but i think its worth "review"ing it ..
The 1st vinyl:
A. Original Dub Mix
A solid bassline enhanced with some spacy effects and sharp crisp claps kick off when the melodyline slowly builds up. A sweet melody with some female vocal "humming" through it builds up slowly till a supersweet breakdown, where the vocal samples add some atmosphere to the track. The breakdown recharges the melody in a more uplifting way, and a after a few teases the track breaks loose. A very nice track with a killer melody line.. as we are used of from the Euphonic label.
B. Kyau vs Albert Remix
Kyau vs Albert take the track to an even more uplifting level, using a stronger bassline and more effects and layers. The build-up of the track is a little longer and they played and twisted the vocals in the first part of the track, creating a dreamy and uplifting feel till the breakdown where the gorgeous vox are presented full force. The synths and melody sound a little deeper then the original mix and also have that little uplifting feel to it. Amazing melody + backup of amazing vocals = amazing remix = thumbs up for Kyau & Albert
The 2nd vinyl:
A. Mike Shiver's Catching Sun Remix
A deep mysterious sound, backed up by some seabird samples kick this track off. As usual, Mike Shiver kicks off with a nice solid beat, that supported by atmospheric background effects even sound a little Armin-ish. The track slowly works it's way on to a straight on trancer with flowing sounds. I must admit, that when I got these tracks in my box, I totally focused on the Kyau vs Albert Remix and only listened quickly to this remix and didn't find it special. But after a few listens I gotta credit Mike for an amazing remix. Very sunny, almost Ibiza synths, with subtle piano melodies backing the truly awesome vocals. The breakdown reminded me a little of Ferry Corsten's Remix of Desiderio - Starlight. A little Spanish influenced guitar twisted in an electronic jacket completing the total Ibiza feel on this one. After the breakdown the track totally lifts off. Fans of Ferry C. or Armin van B. should check this out!
B. Original Vocal Mix
This is more or less the same version as the dub version on the first vinyl. Some slight changes here and there, but the same sounds & melody. Only the, in my opinion, beautiful vocals are included here. Very nice track.
Conclusion
Mike Shiver's best remix so far? Maybe it is, a nice warm summer track and the original vocal mix is catchy. Totally get this!
