Fantastic new release by German uber Hard Trance meisters Cosmic Gate signed this time to the E-Cutz label. Already on the playlist of Tiesto, Marco V, Ferry Corsten and Johan Gielen; this is something you don’t want to miss. Holding strong to quality material Cosmic Gate has always released you won’t be deceived by this production as well.
Ultra Curve:
A long percussive intro defines the beginning of this track. After a while, these percussions come back again now with a deep bassline as well and an echoing high synth string. Following this, a different low sound is used for a new and simple melody. Switching between these two riddles the break is reached. Here again a yet unheard melody is played. This is typical Hard Trance; the sound is low and you know the beat can pick up any second from now on. This also happens; it is something you are expecting. A short pause is introduced and then the track is off again to work itself out.
Tomorrow:
A half muted kick with some high metal sound form the intro here. It all is a little primitive but then suddenly the half mute is off and a massive pumping bassline takes on. The high metal kick sound is jumping up and down and reaches a break where the whole bassline is faded and the kick sound evolves into a phat synth melody. The beat joins just when the resonance of that synth melody has been adjusted giving it more release thus making the sound even better. The up and down jumping metal sound is also back but quickly everything fades away again only leaving the synth riddle with a hard beat. After the JFK voice-like lyrics, a new melody enters and the rhythmic part is back; the track has a more anthem feel now. Luckily at the end that cool whooping bassline returns with the metal tick sound.
Two very different tracks showing how creative Cosmic Gate are with dark\hard Trance. Tomorrow is my favorite because of that fantastic bassline and the way the whole track is built up. I have a feeling that with this release the German producer/DJ duo try to show us what Hard Trance should sound like in 2004.
