Long-serving dance music trouper Alex M.O.R.P.H. has come a long way since his beginnings at a small German club at the age of 15 to become a DJ and trance fan favourite. Working with some of the biggest names in the business, not to mention his long-standing studio and DJing partner Woody van Eyden, he has helped craft some of the most popular trance anthems of the past few years. His latest, Purple Audio, is the title track from his forthcoming artist album also on Vandit that will be released in May 2009. There is a remix by red-hot producer Andy Duguid, TiĆ«sto’s producer of 2008, and a Club Mix of last year’s dancefloor hit Sunshine.
Purple Audio is a typically beautiful piece of trance, with stabbing chords that rise and fall and a warm melody that washes over the production, all underpinned by a rough, pulsating bassline. The breakdown floats on a sea of dreamlike pads building to a sweet euphoric climax with all the elements straining that bit higher to reach the peak. A lovely bit of trance, perfectly arranged.
Andy Duguid uses his trademark groovily unconventional percussion arrangements and adds a funky electro bassline. The dreamy melodies are present and correct. Sadly the track never really takes off, meandering through admittedly quite pretty with cute violins breakdown to the finish line. Not one of his most thrilling efforts for sure.
The Club Mix of Sunshine is a more beefed up version of the Original Mix with extra euphoria added to the lead melody making an already massive tune even more essential. Well worth checking out uplifting trance fans!
All in all another very solid release by Alex M.O.R.P.H. and Vandit. If you like his style then Purple Audio is a must-have addition to your collection and I would also recommend grabbing the Club Mix of Sunshine while you are at it. M.O.R.P.H. is on top form right now which all bodes well for a very exciting new album in the spring. Perfect trance to snuggle up and keep yourself warm in these long dark January nights. 4/5

Not his best IMO, the song is weak, he did better tracks.
Andy Duguid remix for me.
