You may have not heard of One Man Army, neither have I, but for an artist to be signed on JOOF Recordings, he oughtta be up to it! What we have here is very bizarre Trance. This isn't ordinary Progressive Trance, but something very distinguished (and thus creative) in nature. Solid and progressively-building beat, twinkling sounds here and there, jungle noises, and three notes that repeat themselves like a broken record. The breakdown is long, very long. All you hear is epic strings, the likes of Tiesto's Magic Journey or Forever Today but even nicer! Truly "anthemic", until the 5-minute mark when those 3 notes return, with that twinkling sound, the jungle noises, and that simple yet driving bassline - all wrapped up in 30 seconds, and the beat drops back in! Once again progressively building up, until finally all the elements are playing in harmony. Breathtaking stuff, I'm getting hooked on this.
One Man Army ~ Ballroom Dancer [Original Mix]
After such a soothing ride on the A-side, I simply can't wait to see what the B-side has to offer. Everything's superfly up until the breakdown; this is where all the magic's at. Piano. This is all there is to say about the breakdown: piano. And by "piano" I don't mean a couple of sweet notes, I mean a whole symphony. The beat comes back in and rebuilds itself up, quite like the previous track, until finally reaching the orgy of all elements. The ending isn't too DJ-friendly though... watch out AMADEUS!
