Nic Chagall, half of the massive duo "Cosmic Gate", comes with a new release forthcoming on High Contrast Recordings.
There's no need to doubt if its worth listening to or not. Take a listen (or a look) at his previous works such as the melodic wonder
"Monday Bar" and the overly played out but for what its worth
"What You Need".
Coming from High Contrast Recordings is his latest release "Borderline / Back To San Fran", both tracks receiving massive support from top end & upcoming DJ's, such as Above & Beyond, Markus Schulz and Armin van Buuren.
=============================
A: Borderline (8:22)
B: Back To San Fran (9:21)
=============================
As
Borderline starts off, we feel that its going to be a Tech track. Then comes the nice warm prog-influenced bassline. The melody provided in here is quite similar to "Monday Bar", accompanied with an arpeggiating blippy melody too. A very well structured track, but not something that would be heavily played to a dance floor.
Did someone say "dance floor"? Lets go
Back To San Fran for that. Covered with punchy deep kicks, sweeping 'vinyl scratching style' effects and a deep enough bassline, this track is ready to make your feet remember why gravity is a myth. Oh, and there
is a melody. The breakdown is breathtaking, especially with those orchestral strings coming into action. Boom!
