CD1:

1- Orkidea feat. Marc Mitchell ~ Eternal Love:
The intro is purely emotional, as if it is the opening or the celebration of an important event. The melody gets all elated at first, transcending from a glorified place above incorporated with sounds of birds which cannot but give you an extreme strong sensation of purity and spirituality. At minute 2:15, the “breakdown” gently takes place accompanied with “strict” stings in the background. Going progressive in terms of bpm, the melody starts to get more and more affected by the scent of the sweet dark emotional sensation till it gets brightly emotional when the piano sound is introduced. Piano, the definition of emotions when it comes to musical instruments was perfectly indulged in this piece of art track! The piano sound made the whole difference in this track and was manifested by defining the track’s title “Eternal Love”. The pure essence of “love” saw light at the moment the piano sound came into play. It could not get any more emotional. Towards the end of the track, the whole elements from synthesis to stings to piano sound to bass-line were lovely matched together to form one enormously marvelous track.

2- Mulika ~ Escalate:
A delightful arrow of purity and innocence is the first thing that comes to your mind while listening to this beautiful track. The melody is very light and smooth adding to it the nice stings in the back. Very gentle echo of vocals emerges at different moments of this beautiful track which adds a tremendous flavor and makes it one of the finest progressive tunes.

3- Jonas Steur ft. Jenifer Rene ~ Fall to Pieces:
Fall To Pieces offers amazing blossoming vocals from Jennifer Rene whose voice is so damn addictive. She is doing a beautiful job. This tune gets us ready for summer time with that sweet light melody and that stunning ear-catching voice! It is indeed a pure quality track.

4- Yarune ~ Airballoon (A Dreamer’s Guide):
An enchanting happy melody is what kicks off this month-watering track. It is simple in terms of elements offering impressive sounds that cannot but satisfy all ears. Progressive trance is the sound, adorable music is the track. The clapping sounds that appear at minute 4:10 so harmonically match with the sweet melody.

5- El Cortez ~ Desert Rose:
Ah, that full of life and emotions melody cannot but draw a huge smile on your face. An elite sensation of elation magically materializes itself to make the listener experience that pure innocent feeling. The sweetness of the melody is so touching. The agreeability of the melody is so stupefying. This is a pretty good track to listen to when alone; it brings back old dormant memories.

6- Myth ~ Sjamaan:
The track is strictly going progressive. Different elements come into play at a time where the track has reached its peek; euphoria! Lovely instruments used and blended together. The track sounds so nice offering a weird feeling of “vibration” through the different instruments and elements incorporated together that directly and impressively “vibrate” your veins as well.

7- Menno de Jong ~ Nolthando:
Menno de Jong’s arousing style penetrated every uplifter trancer’s heart. He created a kingdom out of his piece of art track. The intro of Nolthando constitutes a real dialogue between two lovers in which flames of love are naturally and remarkably shown.
The very sweet and gentle stings in the background involve the listener in this never-ending pour of inescapable love and passion to only transform him into an obedient trance addict. Two thumbs up!

8- First State ~ Evergreen:
Sensational melody accompanied breathtaking vocals at the very beginning of this marvelous track. The melody keeps on getting emotional as the minutes pass by until it reaches one small sensitive part of your heart. If you are an emotional person, I am sure this will let you cry, just as it did for me. The melody stops from minute 3:15 till minute 3:20 to come back with another form of emotions; aggressive emotions with these dark synthesis, as if the “pause” period was time to re-generate new energy!

9- MLV ~ Love Planet:
Purely bass-line at first until the lovely melody comes into play. Some electro-ish sounds appear which only add a very nice aroma to this mind-blowing track. The shivering implements an adorable sensation of life and existence. The melody gets too agitated when introduced to dark energetic stings. At minute 3:28, the track goes to be more and more energetic having the sweet piano sound in the back.

10- Kimito Lopez ~ Subrunner:
The intro of Subrunner goes firstly bass-line, then stings and synthesis directly accompany it as if they were gradually introducing the sweet smooth melody. Two greatly straight to the heart sounds blended together aimed to give one unique outstanding sound and gets more energetic and lively to drop the hard breakdown at minute 4:06. The track goes melodic and energetic as if it knows they are the two essential main keys to an uplifter trancer’s heart. And who said uplifting died? Subrunner proves that uplifting is alive and will never die. The track perfectly fits on the dance floor to make dehydrated uplifters dance and dance as never before. It is one hell of an excellent uplifting trance track!

11- Menno de Jong ft. Re:locate ~ Solid State:
Techy stings followed by a marvelous deep emotional melody in the intro. The music continues to flow its glory to reach our impatiently waiting ears. This piece of music alone is too heavenly great, what if Menno introduces dark and techy stings to it again? At minute 2:03, this uplifting trance tune goes insanely touching.

12- Leon Bolier ft. Astrid ~ Crazy People (Alternative Mix):
This track starts off with a hard bass-line, having “energy”, “dark” and “heavy” as key terms and elements. An unusual breakdown takes place where dancers cannot but jump, especially having these hard kicks of the beat and synthesis as extras to its extraordinary beauty. This track has lot of fans; it has been a while now!

13- Cliff Coenraad ~ Manjula:
Amazingly perfect! The vocals give the listener an Indian scent which cannot but get full attention, especially with the very nice melody full of energetic elements. Energy rules in this stupefying track which makes it strongly addictive. Cliff got us used with his so respectful taste, and here is another proof of his ultimate success. Dark heavy bass-line reduces this out of this world tune to one word: perfection.

14- Whirloop – Cirrus Station:
That electronic kind of like voice at first is incredibly nice! The synthesis escorted with the heavy bass-line form one hell of an intense force to let dancers go insane. It is very psychedelic oriented in terms of energy and elements. It is indeed a wonderful track to end this stunning compilation with.

The whole album is a blast where it alternates between progressive and uplifting trance with some tech and electro influences. All tracks are relatively new and they perfectly fit together. Track-selection is quite impressive!
The transitions are very smooth and on high scaled professionalism. Menno de Jong proved to be one of the young challenging producers. Now, with his new compilation he proves to be one of the young challenging djs too. Menno, with his magical finger tips knows how to softly move from one track to another. His highly regarded technical skills left tangible sweet feeling in the listeners’ heart. Our Dj made the whole mixing point unnoticeable for how he establishes his strong basics in the world of djying.

CD2:
01. Jonas Steur - Castamara
02. Jonas Steur - Silent Waves
03. Menno de Jong - Tundra (Fierce Dub)
04. Menno de Jong - Tundra (Original Mix)
05. Menno de Jong - Tundra (Mark Otten Remix)

This is unmixed.

Quoting Menno from his album:
"As a DJ I've had the honor of visiting many countries the past few years. Every trip is a new experience, you meet great new people, see beautiful places and have a lot of fun. A common saying is that pictures tell a thousand words. Music takes this one step further for me. Every track on this CD was either found in an interesting place, produced in a far away country and/or inspired by unique things that the makers experienced. Visiting South Africa was a particular thing that inspired me tremendously, and so it wasn't hard to title the first part of this mix CD series. Having travelled over 6000km through this lovely country over a period of one month, this is the musical story of a voyage I will never forget. Listen in, close your eyes, and join me on the trip."

Enjoy

I was so impatient to read your review Dolphy! You've been talking about it so much that it made me really excited about listening (and buying) this album! I hope that i'l have the chance soon :D
I know some tracks from the album since some were played in the latest ASOTs.

1- Orkidea feat. Marc Mitchell ~ Eternal Love
i fell in love with this track at the first hearing! First played in ASOT 302, it was perfectly placed as #2 track to prepare me for one of the best trips in trance of this year since 302 is one of the best episodes of 2007! The melody satisfied me and the piano played confirmed my love of this amazing instrument. Eternal Love eh

The 2nd track is unknown to me but from what you said about it, i wanna get my ears on this one! Purity is one of the things i look for in Trance music. And i love a lot the vocals echo :)

Fall To Pieces is one proof of how "Jenny" is addictive when singing! I can't add anything else to what you said Tala. Yesterday i was already reviewing her latest track Invincible in ASOT 305 :P

4- Yarune ~ Airballoon (A Dreamer’s Guide)
A dreamer's guide is what i need since i'm one! :P i'll listen to anything that makes me happy (referring to the melody of the track).

5- El Cortez ~ Desert Rose
Rania told me yesterday that i'd love this track. And when she says those words, it always comes out right. So i'm expecting to love it  old dormant memories? like what?

Sjamann... well i find it average. Maybe i need to listen to it few more times?

Nolthando woohooooooo !!!!!! First introduced by Menno himself during the ASOT 300 Part 1 in his 15minutes guest mix, played again in the Part 2 at Den Bosch, in ASOT 301 and 304, this track says everything about Menno! Melodic, energetic, pure, brings happiness! The rising talent strikes again!

8- First State ~ Evergreen
The first time i listened to First State was in 2005 in Armin's gig... their track that night was the alias itself. Ralphie B vs Sander Van Dien pres. First State - First State was enough for me to see that those 2 guys would produce sweet and addictive tracks. Waited till 2007 to hear again something from them! The album ASOT 2007 has this track Evergreen, it was also played recently in ASOT 303. It's so emotional that it's perfect for a dreamer! But i still prefer First State 8)

Subrunner... Scandinavia strikes again! The Norwegian dude, after the previous superb (imo) production Telepathy, presents an even better track with much more energy and addictive melody!

Solid State...... hmmm techy? Emotional melody? I'm curious... but i expect something average for my ears :)

Cliff Coenradd is said to be the future Carl Cox!

14- Whirloop – Cirrus Station
Psychedelic oriented? ehm :) have to check this out!

I know only the Fierce Dub of Tundra. Addictive :) from 2004 i think?
No need to comment on Airbase  only that he's my #1 producer of 2007
The Fable tracks are sweet too :)

PS: I hope that there will be lots of quality posts. Take the time to read it. Tala deserves that for the hard work done :) it's not easy at all to review a full album.

Haven't had the time to give the compilation a listen yet and I can't really judge off the tracklist since most of the tracks are unreleased but I have faith in Menno's taste and the review is that of a 5-star sort of release so this must be a winner!
