I said at the beginning of 2007 that Eddie Sender is someone to watch for, and I was right. One Day In Moscow is his 3rd release this year, after Elementate and Aum Gasana, where all of these were supported by Armin, PVD, Above & Beyond and many more…
Now let’s talk about this release a bit.
The Original Mix starts off with kicks and good percussions (I love Eddie’s percussions), and then bassline starts 2 measures later after a female vocal sound (like an opera singer), with an ascending melody in the background. The track has a very nice buildup, until it reaches the breakdown, where the magic and the journey begin. Violins and Strings dominate the track in the breakdown, with “revolutionary” choirs, giving it a very sad feeling. Main Melody kicks in after this amazing piece of art with the female vocals, interpreting the same strings melody maintaining its spirit. What is great about the melody is that it starts at a low octave, and then continues at a higher octave. It’s a very innovative and breath-giving track. I love it!
Ronny K’s interpretations (Northsound and Southsound, which are the same basically..if any of you find any difference, please tell me!) of this magical trip is close to the original, but he used a different kind of plane. The build-up seems close to what Eddie composed, but he used more pads, making the track even more dreamier. The transition to the breakdown was nice, using a measure of breakbeats, then shifting to the breakdown, starting with some strings, then he continues them while in the background you can listen to the melodies coming from far away, just to take you back to earth! Ronny also used this great female voice, and these choirs that Eddie used.
