It wasn't long ago that Signum released his 2004 reconstruction of First Strike, but it seems the man is having a highly creative week with yet another release - The Timelord. Starts off with a very pro-sounding beat, with just the right elements (particularly a massive bassline) to get your heart pumping and your feet jumping. After about two minutes or so the melody starts emerging from the abyss, leaving us anticipating the breakdown to come... and eventually it comes! Very psychedelic at first, until the pads are introduced, as warm as a pad can get, with some minor guitar notes running in the background, York-style, until the melody is finally emphasized and starts building itself up to finally reach its climax at the 5:40 margin. Breathtakingly emotional melody, bound to make you close you eyes and fall into a state of Trance. Just when the melody and the beat are finally played and withdrawn, you think it's all over, but it's only then that it really gets better! The melody is given more energy, with the notes slightly changed, and that state of Trance that you were already in leaves you lost in cyberspace. Surely beats 'First Strike 2004' in my opinion. A 5-star release from Signum!
