[align=justify]After a short break from reviewing due to my exams, I am honored to be back with one very precious release from our very own member C-Rouge!
This young talent has been a promising producer from Day 1, and I was there on Day 1. And here he is now, at this tender age, seeing his first label release for his epic production Groong, on the Lebanese digital label Vibe, owned by another member of ours Ceasar K, founder and head of vibelebanon.com. Groong is not just a piece of production, but a traditional Armenian musical instrument which C-Rouge employed in this track, as a tribute to his home country, the culturally rich and historically tortured Armenia.
A haunting intro kicks things off, with a dreamy synth, a soft piano, and the tear-dropping Groong sound. The beat then kicks in, with a solid kick, a driving bassline, techy elements here and there, the harmony of which takes you through to the first mini-break, after which the Groong instrument marks its return, so that in turn it takes you through to the real breakdown of the track. The same Armenian melody is played out digitally for a hands-in-the-air eyes-wide-shut break, until the Groong whispers softly for a brief moment before the beat drops back in with pure Tech Trance mayhem! A lot of variation follows from there, be it in structure or instruments, and keeps things interesting, away from boring repetitiveness. Groong is a musical journey par excellence, not just a piece of electronic production.
An inspiring track indeed, showing once more what musicians Lebanon is home to, and showing what potential this C-Rouge has. With his debut album ("Genotrancide", refering to the tragic Armenian Genocide on the bloody hands of Turkey) already released in the USA, the first single of which (Groong) getting signed to a label this quick, the future looks very promising for this young talent.
