Two of the scenes most distinguished names collaborate in delivering a production that has been causing much hype lately! Story goes that Andy 'Bassline' Moor was looking for new sounds and melodies for an already written bassline. Search ended with Orkidea, forces were joined, and YearZero was born!
The Original Mix is first on the release. A proggy tune, slow in pace, with a bouncy, uplifting, yet slightly dark edged bassline, intersected with glittering melodies and chunks of female vocals! I really liked this, but it's mainly just a preparation to what's on next!
And next is the Andy Moor's First Light Mix! When i mentioned hype at the beginning, it was due to this very remix! Speeding up the Original and adding depth to it, with a driving bassline, more vocal chunks, and more glitters and sparkles, the whole thing is just floating with such harmony and concinnity.
This track is just screaming "Andy Moor"!!
Finally is the Orkidea's Metaverse Mix. Orkidea adds more speed and energy, and spices them up with more twists, funk, and tension. I just love the kicks before vocals at times 2:15 and 4:43. The track has two breakdowns that brilliantly peak with the sounds of Original melody and descend back to the party of flowing elements.
My personal favorite!
At the end, it is worth noting that this is only AVA's third release! With previous ones being David Weste's 'Make You Mine' and Joonas Hahmo's 'The Fusion', I think an eye should be kept on what's next from this label!
