Javier & Fijneman ~ Sweet Talk
Played in the huge Cor Fijneman & Mark Norman ‘s 80 Days World Tour 2006 mixed compact disk, Javier & Fijneman introduce us to a branch of the melodic and soft music world by dropping “Sweet Talk” as their first producing collaboration.
The release is currently having both the Original Mix and Phynn Remix on the Outstanding imprint. The Original Mix seems to be the peak of silence and gentleness at the beginning, supported by a kind of proggy style through the soft beats, however soon everything gets swifter transforming the atmosphere into a more melodic style by adding more beats, also setting sweet melodies at the background. And this all happens at the middle of length starting from a very short silent breakdown and reaching the bassline. Good for a first listen, and not exactly my style, my personal rating could maximum reach a 5/10 for this. In my opinion, this surely didn’t perfectly fit in Cor Fijneman & Mark Norman’s trance music compilation.
To be more optimistic, starting with the same beats used in the Original yet adding crispier elements, Phynn Remix makes its own trance style, where up and downs could be highly noticed, and would prolly satisfy melodic music lovers especially at the beautiful breakdown: gentle guitar riffs used in order to offer us a bright melodic sensation, and getting closer to an uplifting edge while increasing the number of cutting beats , yet still not that much energizing.
After listening to the Original Mix, Phynn Remix did well in compensating on me, especially that soft breakdown which is the main remix embellisher.
A good release, not really the perfect style in trance music though. Phynn remix is obviously preferable to me, others may like listening to the Original Mix yet I really doubt in this.
