Fabio Stein ~ Tran-4| State Of Trance
For those who still don’t know who Fabio Stein is, he’s the one known for the latest remix of Sander Van Doorn’s release Punk’d, and obviously the one appearing on Eddie Halliwell’s Cream Ibiza album with his Manix ~ 88 To The Piano remix. Finally, Fabio Stein had the chance to offer us another production following “Panic Mode”, and also to be found on maelstrom records: Tran-4and State Of Trance
The Italian producer starts with Tran-4 on the A1-side, beautiful melodies set at the background and supported by heavy beats especially at the middle of the length. Now back to its start, Tran-4 seems to be close of a euphoric style caused of the soft synthesizers added to the melodies mostly when reaching to the sensible breakdown. A sudden change happens to the simple main structure, swifter and crispier beats were merged to it, which offered a quite good uplifting and tech trance combination: speaking of the bassline. Before and at the beginning, you think of it randomly and judge on Tran-4 as having one of the typical styles which you can easily find in any other uplifting techy track. In a matter of fact, these were my exact thoughts at the intro, however that weird main melody which kept coming all over the track and perfectly showing up at the time when the soft break takes place and throw away all the other elements completely changed my mind. Not sure whether some of you will feel the same, yet quite knowing that the track surely deserves a listen.
You can also find State Of Trance on the A2-side, mainly characterized with its euphoric state of mind, highly pitched melodies during the breakdown which can easily take your memory back to the old euphoria & melodic days. Simply build with gentle elements, nicely put in order to make you feel the melodic sensation -and yes- beats were typically used this time in order to warm up for a ‘yet to be found in many other productions’ bassline, but totally fitting with the emerged sensible elements at the beginning, therefore offering us good soft sound, and a ‘not bad’ one compared to the new uplifting style the scene is witnessing nowadays: I’d consider it good for a first listen and not more. My personal rating would rather vary, the breakdown (eventhough it is not much stylish as well) could maximum reach my 7/10 rating; The tune overall deserves a 6 to 6.5 over 10.
I’d obviously prefer Tran-4 over State Of Trance, a beautiful groovy tune containing some funky elements and a unique melody should be getting a good amount of tech trance listeners real soon. Already got a huge support from Judge Jules’s side, and lately Fabio’s productions have been getting supported from several famous artists such as Johan Gielen, Ferry Corsten, Paul Van Dyk, and Eddie Halliwell. Hence will keep an eye on his upcoming productions.
