Mark Otten - So Serene

could be definitely labeled as the most beautiful piece of music produced in the 2005!! it's the great composer/producer Mark Otten and his marvelous track So Serene who will soon see a release with another HUGE remix by the other star producer in this same category Menno De Jong

the release starts off with the Menno De Jong Fierce Dub Remix which starts off heavy on the bass and progressively introduces the elements forming an energetic uplifting mix of a beautiful progressive track!! the main melody is all there, the vocals are somehow more present and clearer while the kick is far more present than the original mix. everything seems going well until the breakdown where everything stops and we get to face only the amazing sound of the piano along with the angelic female enchantings!! something that could be one of the most emotional things one can ever hear.. and then the bass kicks back in.. energy fills in and BOOM!! we're back in business! i kinda love the new piece of music Menno added to the original track that perfectly fits in and gives his remix just another difference from the original!! 10/10 !

now back to the original that caused so much hype in the scene this year!! one fine piece of music and one fine style of music that i get to favor (the somehow slow prog/melodic style with a catchy melody that gets played differently althrough the track..) So Serene has got to be the most emotional track of 2005 for sure! the melody is so beautiful that it would put anyone into trance so fast with its subtle bassline and progressive structure! something that the likes of Mark Otten , Menno De Jong and Solarstone are masters at (to name a few..) the breakdown in the original is also a whole different experience.. a journey by its own with the melody played, female enchants and somehow soft sound of beach and birds going in the background then gradually and progressively getting back to the fullest! what an experience!! 10/10


as you all know the original got full support of AMADEUS this year and the Menno De Jong was fiercefully hammerred by Armin on his ASOT and in all his sets..

for anyone who havent heard anything althrough the year, or for anyone new to trance i wouldnt recommend anything BUT this release!! it's the best piece of music and the best trancer to be introduced to others so far this year!!
