SamEr is going to crucify me for reviewing this release before he did! Why? Because Solar Factor is the alias that Push/Mike used to produce Urban Shakedown - SamEr's favorite 2003 tune! Anyhoo, the belgian genius is back with a double-sided vinyl...

Dark intro with a vibrant bass sound, soon complemented with a powerful kick signaling the start of a long, dark, techy buildup. The typical Solar Factor sound can be heard throughout the buildup, carrying us through to 3:56 - breakdown time! A dark phat pad rises from the depths, emerging with it a sharp string, to which is soon added a cymbal and a surprising re-inclusion of the beat, starting off with the dry kick, and slowly building up to take the form of its complete elements. The melody, too, keeps escalating in the typical Dirk Dierickx style. Great stuff as ever from Dirkyboy!

What I love about this artist is his simplicity, which can be clearly seen in this production. Dreamy buildup from the early moments of the track, and beat that has Push written all over it. A couple of minutes through and everything is silenced to the ground; we are left wit some whirling effects and a tweaked-up melody climbing up the equalizer. The beat is soon dropped back in, and the dream process begins... Things get even dreamier as the track advances, not to my surprise though, as you would only expect such when you're dealing with Mike. Progressive Trance in its finest form is what this producer represents; hats down.



A more than decent production from one of the solid names in Trance that never seem to disappoint. From his early years up until this very day, he has been unleashing monster hit after monster hit, firmly fixating his name as one of Trance music's greatest stars to ever shine.
