Iboga does what it does best: progressive. This means progressive trance, progressive house, and progressive psy. Sometimes it means all of them together in one place and Set:10 is exactly that. With the flow and randomization of genres in EDM lately, plus minimal and techno inevitably leaving their mark on the scene, Iboga goes with the flow and deliveres a 22-tune USB stick release (or an 18-tune double CD) that will get you in the mood no matter what.
The compilation starts in a very housey mood but the brilliant Ace Ventura picks on the second slot with a fresh progressive piece, Judo Chop. The atmosphere, the effect, the impact... Wow! Loved this tune to bits!! But it gets much better with Ritmo's remix of another Ace Ventura tune: The Spark. This is a tune that you'll either love or hate - there's no compromise really. Relentless, dark, and a little catchy melody at the breakdown offers no room for thinking about what you're listening to but extreme euphoria. It explodes at a pounding 140 bpm in the latter half of the tune leaving you absolutely hung-up on a loop. Massive tune!
I won't stop at every tune in the release, but Jean Borelli's My Devil Inside, Atmos' Twin Reaction, and RPO's remix of Bitch are certainly among the highlights of the release.
The latter half of the compilation (CD 2) could prove disappointing if you like your beats and basslines as myself but if you like your minimal & techno then it's yours to suck on.
