Yes, possibly the BIGGEST track of 2006, the track that rocked the top 5's (and most often, the absolute number 1 spots) of many yearly trance countdowns over the globe (especially Amadeus's top 2006 tracklist in addition to our very own TH's
) is finally back thanks to High Contrast Records!Who knew the result of bringing together two of the most revered producers of the trance would result in such a compact symphony?
Yes. A "compact" symphony!
A mixture of beats, melody, and infinite emotion, harmonically linked together and released for our aural pleasure (how lucky are we!) - lasting shorter than a musical symphony but definitely presenting the same allure.
This juicy, absolutely gobsmacking scrumptious release retains the initial wonder of original track, encompassing two mixes from the original producers themselves (!) as well as two remixes from Mekk, an alias of UK producer Rob Stevenson who has already placed a strong imprint on the trance realm, and a mix from Rafaël Frost, one of the talented members of Ferry Corsten’s Flashover record label.
Alex Morph's Original, well, is a freaking BEAST. No further comment.
The A Less Ordinary Rank 1 Mix is indeed something of "less ordinary" - with Rank 1 giving a sound that is again, something of which we are not quite used to expect! Minimal undertones combined with an electro inspired bassline give this remix quite an interesting vibe. Then as soon as you think there is no chance for this track to contain any melody, a sweet, swift melody rushes in at the breakdown blessed with the sound of strings that could melt any electro lover's soul.
The Mekk mix also reflects an electro vibe. Fast, energetic and funky, the percussion and bassline excitingly lead you into the breakdown, where the strings smoothly appear. Mekk seems to enjoy large breakdowns, since his is far longer than that of the original! Quite an enjoyable remix.
Rafael Frost’s mix is quite mystifying: at first, you have the feeling that you are listening to the original. Then you get to the breakdown: the dark feel makes the strings of the original seem evil, especially with the addition of twisted effects and a wicked bassline. Then one of the most stunning melodies I've heard is introduced - it is this melody that is probably going to give Frost the fame he deserves.
THIS RELEASE IS A MUST HAVE, MUST LISTEN, MUST MEMORIZE RELEASE.
