Alex Bartlett, an alias for the otherwise known Fabio Carrara (recognized throughout Italy as Fabietto DJ) has turned the eyes, ears and heads of many a trance fan with possibly one of his best summery, beachy trance releases ever!
Released just in time for that perfect summer feel, Touch the Sun is a marvelous vocal trance piece, produced in collaboration with Andy Guess and none other than the vocalist herself, Anthya, who in addition to lending her angelic voice to the track, penned the lyrics. Although the lyrics may seem a tad weird at first, yet soon into the track they emerge as the main focus, for all the strong remixes in this release have largely proven to be each an epitome of an exquisite vocal trance production.
This release has amassed great support from Armin Van Buuren, Above and Beyond, Gareth Emery, Martin Roth, Rank 1, Solarstone, Ronski Speed, and Duende, to say the least. The strong remixes in this release refute any claim that this track is "yet another regular vocal production".
Regular, indeed NOT! This track quickly reached the number 1 position at Juno Download, where it currently still holds this rank in addition to being one of the hottest bestsellers nowadays.
The Rank 1 remix has gotten great attention after having being included in CD 1 - On the Beach of Armin's A State of Trance 2007. A perfect pick for the beach, in my opinion. It gives off a dark, beach at sunset type of vibe with certain tribal undertones. It's quite far from the usual Rank 1 style we have probably gotten used to, but the complete inclusion of the vocals in addition to the groovy beat makes this hit a wonder!
Duende deliver not only ONE but TWO remixes: a vocal and a dub. Both in my opinion are of high caliber: the twists and turns of the melody in addition to the intelligent cropping of the vocals give the track a upbeat, uplifting spark. Perfect for the sun (ahem. latshe for Sunday ) Both Duende and Rank 1 have been featured on Armin's weekly ASOT, gathering quite a large fanbase.
Xb & Guess also present 2 remixes: a vocal and a dub carrying groovy electro-trance vibes - quite the fist pumper - remixes that will most likely rock the clubs of Ibiza this summer!
Possibly the most uplifting track of this release is that remixed by Lisaya & Petersen. Interesting and far from boring, this remix challenges the work done by Duende easily!
