Radiohead ~ Street Spirit [Tiesto Remix]
First up we have Tijs' remix of Radiohead's Street Spirit. Strong beat straight ahead, in the style of Cosmic Gate (you hear that commando?

Madonna ~ Die Another Day [Tiesto Remix]
On the flipside is Tiesto's take on Madonna's 007 theme Die Another Day. I had already heard this remix long ago, and I remember liking it. Well here it goes: Long intro, the kind of intros I like, very trancy and containing a small fragment of Madonna's vocals. A strong beat is then dropped in about a minute afterwards, similar to Traffic's drum'n'bass, and it starts building itself up. 3 minutes ahead and Madonna's voice is re-inserted, with that techy sound from Suburban Train in the background! The beat drops back in with nothing but that same techy sound - massive dancefloor damage! But Tiesto didn't say his last word, and neither has Madonna, whose voice comes back very pwoerfully, with all sorts of effects implemented on it... But at 5:00 is when the magic starts: everything is muted, and the violins from the original song are directly thrown in, no questions asked. Next comes a section of the track that is truly hard to describe. Chaos - a chaotic kaleidoscope of techy elements, electro noise, atari sounds even... This is truly a remix that stands out, mostly due to its complex structure. Excuse me, for its VERY complex structure.
All in all, not quite my piece of cake, because, simply, it's not trancy enough. But in terms of quality of production, creativity, and unique sound, Tiesto really pulled it off this time, with Die Another Day only though... A release that is worth checking out, but I still believe that Tiesto had his better days, and I still prefer his older sound over this new one.
