DJ Ton TB (Ton van Empel) from Three Drives On A Vinyl has been closely tied to Black Hole for many years past, and I only need to mention his debut solo album Dream By Daylight release on Tiesto's label to confirm. After releasing the album sampler comprising of Jewels In Time and Trip Canceled on BH as well, Ton unleashes another album track, featuring the vocals of Carol Lee - a former Italo-Disco vocalist!
Our first destination is the Budapest Mix, the opening track of his 2006 album, is a haunting proggy monster, with the vocals put to full use on top of a dark, driving beat. This is my kind of "song": a treat for the ears, and a smasher on the dancefloor!
We then take the next flight to Los Angeles for a dubby LA Mix, much techier than its preceding location, and even more dancefloor-approved. This is the sort of Tech Trance you'd heard from Cosmic Gate... do I smell a remix in the air?
Last up is the Green Room Mix, which brings back the vocals (with a hole lot of tweaks) on a phat proghous-ish bassline with minimal/electro influences... monstrous!
An A-Class release all around... I can't pick a favorite mix, all three earn a solid 10/10! I don't get livesets, but if this is what Tiesto's been pounding lately, then to hell with all his haters! A must-get for all nocturnal creatures in here!
