Li Kwan ~ Point Zero 2004 [Matt Darey Remix]
Released a few years ago, this piece of work just got a reconstruction from the man himself - Matt Darey. Preserving the intro, but cutting back on the length (previously 12 minutes, now only 10), Matt kicks off the track with a very twisted beat in addition to some minimal vocals building up. The breakdown features those same intoxicating vocals with some spacey sound effects, afterwards reduced to two choir notes, and the track explodes into oblivion! Great "old-school" Trance, very dreamy and bound to take you on a mind journey.
Li Kwan ~ Point Zero 2004 [Lost Tribe Remix]
Lost Tribe is just another alias for the same genius: Matt Darey. Remember Lost Tribe ~ Gamemaster? A true masterpiece, one of my all time favorites. Getting back to Point Zero, this remix is more intense by nature. Relentless beat straight ahead, occasional hints of the vocals, untilt eh pre-breakdown breakbeat arrives with some Atari sounds here and there. THe breakdown starts off pretty dark, with a girl saying a few words, followed by those heavenly vocals. The beat doesn't take to long to join the party, with a very psychedelic twist to it this time! As I said, very intense remix this one is, but intense just enough for aural delight.
Li Kwan ~ Point Zero 2004 [Agnelli & Nelson Remix]
Agnelli & Nelson have gotten us used to quality Trance since the early days of the music. Minor intro here, followed by a very jumpy beat that slowly builds itself up, and that reminds one of the beat they implemented in their remix of Blue Fear 2004 (especially with that bassline). Slightly after the 2 minute mark, we are teased with a dark melody that leaves us screaming for the breakdown. The breakdown finally falls upon us, and is introduced with those kickass vocals. Just when you think it couldn't get any better, than previously teased-through melody is thrown in brilliantly, with that same escalating effect that Agnelli & Nelson used in Holding Onto Nothing. BOOM! The beat drops back in and even though I'm in my seat my hands are already in the air! Great stuff by the Xtravaganza boys, my favorite mix of this gem.
Li Kwan ~ Point Zero 2004 [Leama & Moor Remix]
Leama & Moor are a synonim to first-class Trance, and I am really interested in how they're going to handle such a twisted track. Progressive beat right from the beginning, more down-tempo than the previous mixes. This is the longest mix on the vinyl, and before the breakdown is attained you really feel as if the track has reached its climax. But you shouldn't always trust your feelings... the breakdown alone is a treat, and you should hear what these boys did to the choir after the breakdown! As dreamy as Trance can get, this mix is a true masterpiece. Leama & Moor never disappoint!
