i can hear up to 16500hz and maybe a bit more.... i did an audiogram last time!
anyways... thank you for the tip, i would add to your essay and to your EQ some compressing, a good way to get your kick up to 0db and give it the punch your looking for.
i think it is important to compress each individual sound while mixing it gives more contol to what i'm doing, at the end when i'm at the mastering stage it makes my life much simpler when it comes to 3 band compressing.
USE UR EARS... tnx JOE that's the most important part. use ur ears and rest your ears and trust me on this one the MORE u listen to something the LESS good it becomes. so trust your hunch and instict.
PhAzInG..... be carefull how you choose your sounds... some frequecies might phase with each other, most of the time the bass of the kick and bass itself will phase so EQ will be your answer.
what am i missing?? oh yeah! SAMPLES, if your using samples, get the BEST that u can find. no shitty samples or mp3 samples that u download here and there. get good quality sounds cause the VST won't fix it.
Sidechaining.... will get back to that later.
