there are lots of better players but not this season, last year Kaka deserved it more than anyone else, but this year it would'nt be fair if someone other then ronaldo wins the title (not talkin as a MU fan). Cannot deny that he's beeing egoist alot and he likes to show off, but who give's a F**K bout his personality this guys plays pure magic even if he shows his ego in some individual skills (3-4 times/game) that wont affect his team that much, instead its makes opposition's players furious just like when mexes recieved a yellow card yesterday after that ronaldo pissed him off with his "egoist" dribbles. after all he still a 23 yrs old immature human beeing that u cannot blame for his ego because he's simply the best player in the world FOR THE MOMENT who's beating records, scoring amazing and huge number of goals and passing some gr8 assists.

Let's face it people...selfishness or no selfishness if one guy stayed healthy all this year and scored a goal every game...it's Klaas Jan Huntelaar ...and Christiano Ronaldo...Messi misses quite a few games every season and it will definitely affect his performances in the upcoming seasons...Kaka was very disappointing this year and so was AC Milan...Arsenal's boys Fabregas and Adebayor are still having a good season but in no way is it as good as Ronaldo's...the season isn't over yet but if the Red Devils win the EPL and the CL then there will be no question about who will be player of the year...but if Man U fails to do so then I will have to reconsider my vote about who will be player of the year...because this guy has to carry a team on his shoulders the whole year from the beginning to down the stretch...and I don't need to remind everyone that there is the EURO 2008 coming up soon and we all know how much big tournaments count when it comes to deciding the identity of the player of the year...

Christiano Ronaldo is one of the purest talents in the world but he will have to fix his attitude someday to become one of the greatest players ever...anyway so far he is the best player on the European and global stadiums...

Since when is showboating such a bad thing? the guy has skills that he likes to show off, shouldn't we be defending him for showing us these skills instead of defending the idiots who hack him down every time he tries a dribble?
True he does dive, but don't MOST players do this nowadays? He's got a reputation for it and its highlighted every time he does it, unlike other players. Now every time he does get hit by a tough tackle,it's a "dive", but you have to give him credit for standing up and risk taking it again.

As for Torres, he's had a great season, but let's face it: We all heard of how tough the Prem is and how players have a hard time adapting. But this guy was TAILOR-MADE for this league! High defensive lines, slow defenses... He would've never thought it would be this easy. The point im trying to make it is, as much credit as he deserves this season, Gerrard should take as much: he's giving him the service he's dreamed of having in his Madrid days.
