Olympique de Marseille has a new owner

The glorious french club is being sold to Jack Kachkar. This 43 years old man is a canadian businessman of armenian origin, a doctor in medicine, the CEO of the investment company Karver Capital Holdings which has various participations in North America & Europe. He also is the CEO in the pharmaceutical company Inyx which has its headquarters at New York and has shares at NASDAQ.
Olympique de Marseille has been owned since 1996 by Robert-Louis Dreyfus who made fortune in the USA and later bought Adidas from Bernard Tapie. A decade has passed. "RLD" was unable to build a competitive team and managed to win only the Intertoto Cup. He invested 200 million euros in the club, which has been the last year under surveillance by the justice.
There were rumors that RLD made a deal with the prince of Dubai Cheikh Al Maktoum. They agreed that Sven-Goran Eriksson would become the coach of the french club. Clues like Marseille's participation in the Dubai Cup and Eriksson's presence there led to that hypothesis. However, it is now certain that the Swedish manager won't come to the south of France.
Jack Kachkar clearly confirmed that he wants to win the Champions League with Marseille. He has been coming to the south-east of France for 5 years and he is fascinated by this club. He wants to give what is needed in order to win again the most prestigious European Cup.
As a reminder, Marseille is the only french team that won the Champions League back in 1993 after beating AC Milan 1-0 at the Olympiastadion of Munich. The scorer was then the famous African player Basile Boli.
If everything goes well, Kachkar will become the owner of Olympique de Marseille next month.
