It all began over a year ago, in a now-deceased forum that had as members a few names you may all recognize: electro-sam, SamEr, TRANCExual, Dreamboy, and DIONYSOS. What characterized these particular members is that they were all true Trance listeners, and not DJ-wannabe's or alleged producers who claim to have Fairuz as their vocalist. No, these five trancers constituted what was then the only Trance mini-community in Lebanon. The forum we were present in and through which we got to know eachother and became good friends ended up shut down by its administrators, for the sole reason that these five loyal trancers would always oppose mis-information regarding the Trance scene that used to be spread on that forum. To make a long story short, the administrator pulled the plug on the forum after one last quarrel between him and his musically-ignorant brats on one side, and us on the other. This is when we got together and decided to build our own community, dedicated to Trance in general and the Lebanese Trance scene in particular.
On March 21st 2004, TranceHits.com came to light, with its co-founders electro-sam & SamEr as Administrators, and the three musketeers TRANCExual & Dreamboy & DIONYSOS as Moderators - and the journey began! It wasn't long until MalcomX was added to the Moderator squad for his specialization in Movies & Sports, soon followed by AMADEUS, Lebanon's top Trance jock, and a few months later one of our most active members bxtreme was also set as Moderator because the forum was growing bigger and faster than we had imagined and we needed and extra arm to help. It is thus that TranceHits.com was established, and started a remarkable growth not only on the local scene, but on the international one as well, with members from all around the world signing up, even well-known producers like Jono from Above & Beyond, Samuelzone, Kuffdam & Plant, and Robert Lidstroem to name a few.
It wasn't too long before we became quite a busy forum, with daily reviews of the latest releases, a jukebox updated on a weekly basis with AMADEUS' Rhythm Nation radio show, coverage of rare but major local events, members signing up on a daily basis... simply an exponential growth that, quite honestly, we did not even see coming when we first decided to build this place up! Our constant hard-work, coupled with the loyalty of our members, made TranceHits.com a second home to many, including ourselves. By the end of summer, we felt so overwhelmed with how good the forum is doing in all its aspects that we decided to take things to another level; it is then that we decided to organize our first event - Voyage Into Trance. ViT was a resounding success (reviews and pictures are still available), and we are still being demanded up to this very day to organize a ViT-2, which we hopefully will do.
Things only went uphill from there, with the community getting larger everyday until crossing the 400-members line just a few weeks ago... Over 400 members in one year! That's what I call an impressive number! And here we are today, with a solid Trance community that makes its crew proud and keeps its members delighted... and we surely aren't planning on stopping just here!
