Man of the moment is a tag that has been firmly attached to Mark for the last year, both in the press and on the radio.
A string of consistently hot productions and remixes (everyone from Kylie to Steve Lawler) has catapulted him to the top of the dance charts and his profession, making Mark a firm favorite with the likes of Sanchez, Deep Dish, Lawler, Xpress 2, etc. This has been backed with consistent Radio 1 plays from Pete Tong and other world wide stations on almost everything he touches. If you are a DJ you will almost certainly have a Mark Knight record in your box.

Accolades have been coming thick and fast for Mark – Steve Lawler has called him “the best producer on the planet”, Pete Tong has labeled him “the man of the moment”, and the inaugural House Music Awards have nominated him for best breakthrough producer. One reason for Mark’s success has been his incredible partnership with Martijn Ten Velden, formerly of Audio Drive. “We got together to do just one track… we’ve been working together ever since." Their Remix of Ferrer & Sydenham’s “Sandcastles” was one of the biggest tracks of 2005 resulting in a nomination at the infamous House Music Awards.

On the remix front, Mark got his hands on the classic “Strings of Life” by Soul Central, which can safely be described as an end of the night, hands in the air house anthem, and “Morning Always Comes Too Soon” by Brad Carter, which was one of the biggest tracks of summer 2004. His gorgeous, soulful yet edgy remix of Portabella’s “Viva La Difference” marked his third number one buzz chart position in a row. Recent remixes include The Shapeshifters “Incredible”, Kings Of Tomorrow “6PM” and the chart smashing “Make A Move On Me” from Joey Negro.

Mark's own productions have been nothing short of future clubbing anthems with his recent smash ‘Insatiable’ at the top of many club charts, No.1 DJ Mag Hype Chart & features on various compilations across the globe.

Another venture for Mark has been establishing his own label. From its HQ in the mean streets of Maidstone, Toolroom Records has emerged as one of the most respected dance labels in the UK, culminating in a House Music Award nomination for best breakthrough label. A label that gained instant recognition by the world's major players, both on radio and in the clubs, and continues to be at the forefront of house music. Quoted by Radio 1 as "label of the moment" in a special feature on the Radio 1 website. A massive factor in its success has been the number of remixes Mark and Martijn have done for the label, turning Hool vs Bruckheimer’s “In the Beginning”, Allister Whitehead’s “Let the Music Use You” and Marks own track “Insatiable” into huge records. Marks remix of John Dahlback’s “Nothing Is For Real” on Toolroom Trax is the biggest selling track on beatport ever!

Although Mark considers himself first and foremost as a producer, his skills on the decks have warranted a further House Music Awards nomination – for best breakthrough DJ. His style reflects his attitudes to production; rather than finding one style and sticking to it, Mark likes to keep his sets as varied as possible. Comfortable with soulful, funky sounds as well as tribal, progressive and tech house tunes, if it works on the floor, then it works for Mark.

Having found house music on the dancefloor of the Ministry of Sound, Mark’s career has come full circle, after being given a residency at the club & Tours. Of all of his achievements, Mark is proudest of this one, and he can often be found working to the early hours of the morning in his Maidstone studio, making his next hit, ready to be played to the Ministry faithful.
With forthcoming gigs in Paris, Miami, Italy, Brazil, Dubai, Asia, Ibiza there are very few places you won't be able to catch Mark this year.
