What inspired you to enter the dance scene?
Danjo: I remember going to the record library with my dad to lend records and cd’s and I really liked Synthesizer Greatest cd’s and mix-cd’s like Jack Mix ’88. I was nine years old then. After that came the first House cd’s with tracks like “House of God”, etc. I got hooked on trance after Carlos’ Silmarillia (for which I was asked to do a remix a few years later!
In the summer of 1998 Rob and I met each other at a party and we soon found out that we shared the same musical interests. We decided to team up in the studio. In the year 2000 this resulted in a contract with BPM Dance and from there it all unfolded.

Rob:My first experience with electronic music was also with the early synthesizer sounds, artists like Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, etc. After that came Culture Beat, 2 Unlimited, etc. who really rocked my world and got me hooked on EDM in general.
When Danjo and I first met, we had the same level of experience regarding simple MS DOS and Amiga mod tracker programs. Nevertheless we both had already been releasing a few vinyls. After we teamed up, previous solo projects got dropped because this Danjo & Styles thing seemed to be working excellent!

What do you consider your greatest production?
We think our new upcoming production "What Lies Ahead" will have a good chance of being our best record to date. But of course all our tracks and remixes have a special place in our hearts. And... we can never forget to mention "Everlast", for the fantastic crowd response every time we play it out.

As a trance duo do you consider it hard to work together in producing/djing/mixing?
It’s twice the fun actually! Productionwise we decide on everything together. Rob does most of the lead melodies and strings and Danjo the accompanying lines and percussion work. Rob’s main skill is that he can create a really good ‘rough’ concept. Danjo’s quality is that he can work out those concepts to well built-up fine-tuned tracks. So we’ve found out that one and one can add up to more than two…

When mixing, we do back2back sets, hyping up each other and of course, the crowd! It needs no explanation that traveling together is much more fun too.

You have spun all around the global dance scene today, what do you consider your best crowd/scene?
Well, we were in Italy a few weeks ago and since the scene is rather small there, all trance lovers from the whole country gathered at that party. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing and the crowd reaction to our tunes was fabulous; cheering, hands in the air, chanting along etc. etc. That was one gig we won’t forget for sure! But we must say that almost all the parties we’ve played had a great, enthusiastic crowd.

Will you be producing an album for your productions?
No albums planned yet, however we have some nice single releases out and/or coming up:

- Danjo & Styles vs. DJ Governor – Forest EP (Red Woods & Blue Woods) [Captivating Sounds Armada] OUT NOW
- Danjo & Styles – What Lies Ahead [High Contrast] OUT END OF JUNE
- Jones & Stephenson – The First Rebirth (Danjo & Styles vs. Primer remix) OUT SOON
