About snow in UAE:

The last time it snowed in Beirut as i remember is almost 10 years ago some time in the day (it was January or February), the snow stayed for less than 1 minute it never snows here

Kamil, if you want snow, then head up to the mountains. Mount Liban is covered up and virtually inaccessible throughout most of December and January. You won't get much in Beirut, it's just not cold enough.

Yea Raneem, I love that about Canada. I absolutely adore snow though I guess when it's daily and consistent like in your case, you'd get bored and it loses its excitement edge.

Many roads are blocked over in the UK, schools are shut, and over 5 million people couldn't make it to work this morning.

It's been between 7 at the warmest and -5 at the coldest since late November. Right now it's zero.

Kamil, it's brutally cold here but it hardly ever snows. When it does (like it did last year at times) it's simply a laughable attempt: very light and scarce that it barely hangs on. We're surrounded by water and there're tides coming in every direction particularly from the Atlantic. The geologic structure of the island is also mainly flat. They call 700-meter hills 'mountains' here and Carrauntoohil (the highest summit in the country at a pathetic 1000 meters) gets no snow at all cause it's right at the foot of the Atlantic.

The only mountains that get snow on regular basis between the UK and Ireland are the slopes in Scotland. The British Isles and Ireland are notorious for their crappy weather - it hardly snows thought it's always cold over winter. Continental Europe gets a lot more stable and predictable weather which is the norm!

It is snowing in lebanon,not in the city of course but it has always been like that.
We had a storm this week and it really 'snowed' up the mountains.

Lebanon's weather is changing dramatically and it's so obvious, it's barely raining, snow is not as much as it should be this time of year.
Things are getting pretty serious. I guess what I heard was true, Lebanon is drifting towards the desert weather.

^ You know who to blame then for this dramatic climate change it's the same in Europe.

Winter is not the same there anymore. This year it was luck that Christmas and NYE were white in Poland. But last year there was no snow from October to March (normally before these months were white) and it snowed heavily during Easter in April. Also there are no more regular freezing temperatures below -10. That happens only once every 1 or 2 months for a few days. I also saw during Christmas a tree with buds and that's abnormal in December! Buds appear at spring it's the same pattern in Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary and other countries. Summers also become hotter and have more violent storms from time to time.
