No offense to anyone but I think it's worth mentioning. It's maybe in our Lebanese nature but I noticed it during the last few weeks where I was slightly away from the forum.

I really think our small forum and community is a reflection of our Lebanese society. Whenever there is a controversial topic the forum seems overly active (such as the PvD review topic or the Ayam festival) and everyone is eager to share his point of view on the issue at hand, and that immediately reflects to the forum as all, since people automatically feel compelled to check other topics and give out their opinion. But lately it seems that since there is no event worth mentioning and with the emo activity calming down a tad the forum is taking a little vacation. Music discussions are nice but do not stir up the people's feelings as much as the Kaka transfer saga. No one disagrees that some people are maybe out-growing the whole forum thingy (except Bronko, Q and NS, you guys are an inspiration ), but every once in a while, it looks like we need some heated arguments to jump start things again. Now I am not in favor of rubbing it in people's faces and trash one another but let's face it, we Lebanese feed off human misery (some of us ), and controversy is what we love most.

To sum things up I know the forum will wake up yet again, but since most of us members are hard workers and our bosses monitor our internet connections, our availability is limited but we shall be back (I'm here aren't I?? )

Most people share their views in these "controversial topics" because they want to show that they are "musically superior" to those guys throwing and participating in those events.

^ Musical superiority is a good point. Especially with all the talk about keys and G Minors and Co. lately...

Alain I think the real thing you should be worrying about is not whether people are discussing music or not but it's really the number of members left who are still passionate about trance music. for that we see a number of people all enthusiastic when a topic about house or techno is opened while the others are eagerly waiting for an interesting trance topic to be opened (such as your favorite track of the year or your favorite trance DJ or about upcoming releases or compilations etc...). I think trancehits.com was made in the first place to discuss trance music mainly and host other genres as secondary for a small number of people who might be into these genres (back then) but now I think it's the opposite and the solution would be solved once you give tranceheads something interesting and on a regular basis.

now on the other hand, we do wait for mocking topics and others that reveals our lebanese quality to put all our energy to make fun of something or someone. we have that thing built-in and we cannot change it, unfortunately. so what we need to do is to create something as appealing as those topics to attract the members' (tranceheads) attention again and encourage them to be as enthuastic as the house/techno heads already on the forum.

i have totally outgrown forums A-Cube, TH just seems to hold a special place in my heart where instead of posting 30times a day, i must do at least 2-3!.

@Johnny: ur right, I haven't felt any passion towards trance in 4yrs, and I think others are now catching on also. As one of the "minority" still trance-passionate, you should do something about that.
I defo see a shift from when I first started posting when I was into trance mianly but one of the super few into house/techno (along with Moudy, Bxtreme, Q, some others) compared to now.
I guess Hawa chicken just doesn't taste so good anymore
