Decision, decision!!!

I don't know what binoculars to buy!!!

Now, I've done some research.. well... a lot of research and I've narrowed it down to those two here.
No one does telescopes better than Orion and Celestron. But when it came to binoculars, apparently Orion has the edge.

So here's the two I'm torn apart over:

Orion Scenix 10x50 Wide Angle

OR

Orion Ultraview 10x50 Wide Angle

Now between money and what I need plus the fact that I need a good eye relief binocular (I can't really see without my glasses), I'm leaning more towards the Ultraview. I won't buy a binocular everyday and I want to make sure that I buy one good enough to last and serve me for a while.
But the Scenix is more affordable. The Ultraview has the edge over clarity and stability as well as angle view...

Maybe you can recommend another third one that you know of?

HELP!

Don't buy binoculars.

Binoculars are evil.

Binoculars can get you into some serious trouble, just like this guy:

Do you want your binoculars to get you into trouble, Gen?

Do you want your precious binoculars to leave you stranded in Cyberia, Gen?

Do you still really want binoculars, Gen?

Don't buy binoculars.

Binoculars are evil.

Well both Binoculars are good Gen! The thing is that eventhough they do might have a great resolving, light gathering and magnifying power, the field of view will look somehow fuzzy and blurry, just unstable. Which will make you buy a Tripod in order to get a better and higher image resolution. Therefore not only you will be paying for its price, but also for another special tripod. Unless you filled it in your plans already.

You said that you need one for a long-term period. Well binoculars don't last forever with the same quality in my opinion. And I'm sure with your studies on astronomical and stellar objects, furthermore you will want to own a better Binocular. It becomes addictive hehe.
However if you currently need one, I'm sure you can still find a 50 $ binocular. Try to check on Bosma 7 x 50, its specs are really good hence it will allow you to watch: star-clusters (even from moderately light-polluted regions), Beehive, moons of Jupiter, M 26 and M 25 with no tripods whatsoever.

Let me know what eventually suited your pocket and scientific demands dear.

^ Thanks!

Well, I'm set now on the Ultraview for binoculars. I wanted to get a Celestron Skywatch but (and needless to mention the hefty price) it's real powerful and that makes it real large and hard to handle unless I got a tripod with it. I don't remember the numbers now, but it had a pretty impressive magnification power and aperture. And because it's solely for astronomical viewing the field view was real good but what put me off is the size of the thing.

I want something that I can fit in my bag to carry and that's light enough for me to hold it steadily and gather some light focus to see what am looking at.
I'm not expecting to see the centre of Andromeda with decent binoculars (though possible in non light-polluted areas in the summer from Europe) but if I wanted something from the hi-end I may have as well gone for a telescope all together.

I want to start with a binocular and then move on to a telescope when I get myself moved into a larger house where I can at least have somewhere to put the telescope in. But until I can afford having space for a good few inches monster of a telescope I'll have to indulge in binoculars (which can show a lot from up there, surprisingly).

I'm looking set to go for the Ultraview. It's powerful enough to get some sight of stellar clusters and neighboring Messier objects starting from our own milky way to the Magellanic Cloud. I'll sound optimisic now, but even if I can get a blurry glimpse of Triangulum or any other object or dwarf on our Local Group then I'll count myself lucky.

The only shame is I can't share any photos of what I'll see - Ultraview are not digital.
