College Advise -- Help!

Hey guys, well most of you are college students either here or abroad.
I need help choosing the most appropriate college for CCE (computer and communication engineering), in Lebanon.

I'm lost between NDU & USJ (AUB out of the list 'cause of the damn SAT, it drove me crazy :P)
Correct me in anything I'm wrong about please:
NDU is good, but I've heard that it's not as good as USJ, shhedit el USJ a2wa (what I mean is once you apply to a job and competing with a USJ or AUB student they prefer them)

USJ is great but the only disadvantage is "c'est une ecole" :P
My friends are telling it's really exhausting and the system is pretty much like a school.

So what do you think???

well man my first year was at NDU, before I moved unis, and my first major  , before i moved majors (due to the lack of time with a fulltime job), was CCE.

objectively speaking the courses are really well given and the more you concentrate the more easy it gets to understand things ( I know that might be the case everywhere at any uni but I found it really not TOO complicated at NDU) plus it's a university and it's accredited and it's really something on a CV even though it's not AUB. so NDU is a good option in my opinion, only if you don't wanna get stuck for hours on the way back and forth from Beirut, which was the only disadvantage to me coming from achrafieh and having to be always present on time at my job. so I guess you should go for it dude! :D

I'm an ECE (Electrical & Computer Eng.) major at AUB, 3rd year, but I started as a CCE major, only recently transferred, and I would definitely recommend it.
For starters, ECE is a more recognized major than CCE.
ECE and CCE have the same courses. I can talk all CCE courses and still graduate with an ECE BE. But ECE gives you more options in terms of courses (At least at AUB), so you can choose which courses you like in the domain and which you don't. CCE is a subset of ECE. That was the biggest factor in my decision to transfer.
CCE has more prestige than ECE because usually CCE students have higher averages than ECE students, but that doesn't count for much.

In short, I don't know the difference between the programs at NDU and USJ. But I'd advise you to go for ECE instead of CCE, especially if you still don't know what you like about Eletrical Engineering. It's a very wide domain.
Oh, and another tip... study study study :p Be it USJ, NDU, AUB or whatever, you need to work hard

Engineering !! Thats tough, here at AUB engineering majors are always too worked up, i think they're on steroids or something!! But if you want to then go for it, out of the two you mentioned I have no idea which is better, I would suggest that you repeat your SAT work hard for it and apply AUB for spring 010 (since fall is out of the question for you). I know this might sound cheezy but UL is very good when it comes to engineering, but there is not university life over there!

Donserj do whatever it takes to enter AUB, as inheadkey said there is "university life", and ofcourse some hard work involved that will bring good results like a good job so its a matter of whether your ready to give time to your career or not.

Don Serj one thing resumes it all and Fawzi already said it...wherever you go and whatever you do you have to work your ass off...

I'm in my 4th year majoring in electrical and mechanical engineering at USJ and it's honestly draining me...it's a lot of work especially the 1st 2 years full of mathematics and theories but at the end it's worth it...you get a solid diploma and formation and wherever you apply you will get accepted...but you have to be solid enough mentally to get through the 1st half of the 5 years and then it will be smoother...

Again you just need to get your things straight...focus and manage your time and college can be a great experience...I can also tell you about UL and their good teachers but shit-list infrastructures and crammed up classes...so if you need any details about USJ feel free to ask me...and if you feel like majoring in an English-oriented college the boys seem to know quite a bit too...

Shy--ism you're absolutely right!
I've taken the SAT twice, had 1000 .
Test d'aptitude I did it last year got my A.
Im taking the TOEFL test next month I guess.
I'm gonna apply to all unis as Icepick said. Hope for the best.

Gen, no one said that's funny, leaving your home country sucks, I can't imagine how hard it was for you the first few months.

Thanks for the help guys.
Extremely helpful
