Suggestion: A "Other non-EDM releases" Section

I understand where you're all coming from, and I know that the majority overrules and all you MODs are probably not going to change your minds, but I voted "yes".

BEFORE ANY FINGERS ARE APPOINTED, I URGE YOU TO PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO A) THE INTENT OF MY STANCE, AND B) MY CHOICE OF WORDING!

Why so? I think it'd be refreshing if every now and again (I'm well aware that with some members, that borders a seven-minute to seven hour-period; hats- off Mixata ), a "new releases" thread is launched.

The content of such threads need not revolve around the more mainstream genres (as such: RnB, G-Unit-esque "hip-hop", and the Avrils of Rock), but rather genres that generally appeal to the public like World (Bossa Nova, Flamenco, Oriental etc...), Jazz, Blues, Soul etc...

By no means am I propagating a loss of TH's mission statement and/or theme, but I do believe that this will induce a tad bit more musical diversity; it'll definitely take the forum's credibility to further levels.

I also acknowledge that this is a very risky and sensitive topic (especially considering the profound minority of avid Ricky Martin fans in the house *searches for a baseball bat*), but by allocating a responsible, educated member (or two) for the job, and by you MODs being the usual watch-dogs that you are, this won't be as a) disastrous, and b) far-fetched of an idea.

Now thats the kind of 'convincing' ones I'd like to hear.

Trust me ... we'd LOVE to talk about other genre's ... but its not in the fitting of "Trance"hits. I know I know ... "Its so cliche, do something new ... yada yada". But lets say people talk about some 'cultural' type of music ... which is perfectly fine ... then comes a bloke boasting about how good Shakira can shake her hips with her own music. The MODS would then lock it because it isnt an appropriate topic to talk about in the first place (Here, on TH.com). Then .. they're be an uproar with that bloke posting a thread "WHY THE FCUK DID U LOCK MY TOPIC?". See where i'm going?

We never said 'not' to discuss other music genres ... but creating a 'special' section for it isn't exactly necessary when one could talk about it in the Music Room Section. As you mentioned Suha, you'd like to contribute 'non-mainstream' genres right? How many of the folks here do you think will discuss that? Barely a few ... since most of them are n00bs who just started listening to trance or still listen to the radio (mainstream).

Barely a few => fewer discussion => fewer topics => no need for a major section.
